These are processed photographs which we took at locations where we obtained field recordings. The photos are downsampled to 256 colors, in the style of 90s educational video games. These images will appear in a modal on the website when a particular location's field recoding is selected.

Image shows radius that makes up sound generation. Orange points represent construction (both street construction and building construction), blue points represent restaurant terraces (both permits and open street restaurants), pink points represent 311 noise complaints, green arrows represent pedestrian traffic, red lines and points represent vehicle traffic, and white lines outline ground cover including trees.

Since pedestrian and vehicle locations were sparse, we chose sites that had both data points nearby. All other sounds were generated using points that fell within the 150-meter radius shown.
